Event Info

The theme of this bang is "Mafia and Crime". There is no specific character or pairing, and creators are welcome to pick AUs so long as there are key aspects of the story that revolve around the central theme. Gang-related crime, petty crime, pyramid schemes - everything is welcome!

Sketch SubmissionsArtists will submit sketches for writers to claim. There is no limit to how many sketches a artist can submit, and we ask that pairing(s), preferred rating of the accompanying fic, and (if any) desired tags are listed with the sketch signup.

Check-In ProcessCheck-ins are a week a piece, and there will be a soft check in to make sure that teammembers are communicating, three standard check-ins where participants are expected to be 25%, 50%, and 75% completed with their piece(s) respectively, and a final check in where participants should be 100% complete with their piece.

Beta ReadingWe ask that all pieces be finished by final check in so that beta readers will have ample time to finish beta reading by the start of posting. If a beta reader is unable to read the entire piece, then a 3000-word piece from the fic can be chosen for them to beta.
If no summary submission is received during the summary submission period, it will be assumed that the writer does not need/want a beta reader or has one they typically rely on to beta read their fics.

Preview PostingPreview posting will be handled by the social media mod and will be posted to the bang account directly while tagging each creator. There will be a form distributed during the third check in allowing participants to upload their preferred icon, social media, and a portion of their piece for the bang. Creator schedule will be put together and announced during the final check in.

PostingThere will be a month-long posting period where writer participants are required to post their works to the bang AO3 collection. Artists are not required to post to the bang collection, but they are required to post on their preferred social media to be promoted by the bang accounts. Both participants are required to link the partner(s) that they worked with during the creation period.

FAQ

What is a bang?
A bang is a team project where artists and writers are paired up and work on a singular idea together. Typically, writers will submit summary pitches anonymously that are claimed by an artist. The artists create a piece that is reflected by a scene written in their writer's fanfic. There are periodic check ins and both works are posted on the same day at the end of the creation period.

What is a reverse bang?
A reverse bang is similar to a bang where artists and writers work together on a project, but in a reverse bang artists submit summary sketches that are claimed by writers. The remainder of the process is the same with check ins and posting at the end of the creation period.

Is there a restriction on pairings or ratings in this bang?
No restrictions! We allow any and all ships and ratings, we just ask that all works are tagged accordingly.

Will this project allow minors?
No, due to the nature of the content that will be created and shared during this project, we will not be allowing minors to join.

Can I sign-up without having been in a fandom event before?
Yep!

What roles are allowed in the bang?
Artists, betas, and writers are welcome to apply!

Can I sign-up for multiple roles?
Absolutely! We just ask that if you sign up for multiple roles, please only take on what you can handle. We do understand that unforseen circumstances arise and projects have to be dropped or altered, and will attempt to accommodate accordingly.

What type of art will be allowed for the bang?
Traditional and digital art will be allowed for the bang!

Can we join with a partner? Or do we have to be matched to a team randomly?
You can join with a pre-paired team! There will be a spot on the signup form to list who your partner will be and their role(s).
